The Michael Ellenbogen Movement – Alzheimer’s Advocate

My Linkedin buddy, Michael Ellenbogen shares his personal story of being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 49. Mike reports he began tracing his symptoms starting at age 39. In these videos, he discusses the disease, how it has impacted him, and what are the issues that are being overlooked in policy and practice impacting others young people like him.

Once a successful IT professional and author, Mike is now dedicating his life mission to bring awareness of this disease on not only in the aged, but in young vibrant men and women. Many young Americans who may be experiencing active symptoms may not be getting the care that they deserve due to continued misconceptions and poor assessments by their providers. Mike has some great ideas on ways to help bring awareness, change medical & public perception of this incurable disease, and advocate to put funding for research in finding a cure.

Mike is an inspiration for what the human spirit can do even in the face of adversity.
