Harvard Medical School: Glycemic Food’s Power in the Brain’s Pleasure Zones

Is there such a thing as food addiction? A study using brain imaging suggests that high-glycemic foods may trigger the same brain mechanism as substance abuse. Harvard Medical School’s professor of pediatrics, at Boston Children’s Hospital, David  S.Ludwig, MD, Ph.D. and a team of researchers investigate how food intake is regulated by the pleasure centers of the brain.
